Richard played professional soccer for almost two decades; scoring more than 100 goals for a whole host of top English clubs. Richard began his career at local club York City where his performances as a striker lead to a dream move to the Premier League with Sheffield Wednesday, as well as call-ups to England’s U21 side.
Richard went on to make nearly 600 professional appearances in his career for clubs such as Leicester City, Preston North End, Sheffield United, Leeds United and Stoke City, which he helped win promotion into the Premier League.
Richard is a UEFA A Licensed coach who has also coached at Sheffield United and York City, where he was Head of Football Operations and most recently Caretaker Manager.
He now holds the highest qualification in world soccer with his UEFA Pro License. He also holds FA Youth Award Modules 1, 2 and 3.
Head of Player Development
Jono enjoyed a highly successful professional career as a soccer player, which included a three year spell at Manchester United. Jono was part of Manchester United’s 1998-1999 famous treble winning side which won the Champions League, the Premier League and the FA Cup.
He went on to win the League Cup with Middlesbrough before signing for West Bromwich Albion for £1.25m where he captained the side to the Championship title. In 2009, Jono signed for Fulham and helped them to reach the 2010 UEFA Europa League Final – winning PFA Team of the Year.
Jono is a deep lying midfielder who scored 17 goals throughout his career, as well as three for England’s U21 side.
He is a UEFA A Licensed Coach who has coached at Nottingham Forest and York City. He also holds FA Youth Award Modules 1, 2 and 3.
Head of Coaching
Bryan is a former professional soccer player who played in the English Premier League with Birmingham City, Charlton Athletic and Hull City.
In a career spanning three decades, Bryan made nearly 500 professional appearances - playing against the likes of Ronaldo and David Beckham on a weekly basis.
As well as being the first player to score a goal in the new Millennium, Bryan can also lay claim to scoring a winning penalty for Charlton against Chelsea in one of Jose Mourinho’s very few defeats at Stamford Bridge.
As a UEFA B licensed coach, Bryan’s role is to oversee the pro-level coaching program and act as a mentor for students.
Head of Goalkeeping
Michael is a professional goalkeeper who has made over 400 appearances for clubs such as Sunderland, Stoke City and York City.
Michael’s illustrious career spans over seventeen years and has won two trophies. During his nine years at York City, Michael kept an extremely impressive 116 clean sheets in 326 games.
Michael represented his country Northern Ireland from U18’s level all the way up to senior level playing against talented nations like Germany, Uruguay and Wales in International fixtures.
Michael is a qualified UEFA A license coach who has recently worked with York City’s Academy Goalkeepers.
Andy is a former professional footballer who played as a defender. He spent most of his career at York City, where he is the second highest in club appearance records.
Andy is a UEFA A Licensed coach who has also coached at York City, Hull City, Lincoln City, Notts County & Grimsby Town.
Andy has worked as Assistant Head of Youth, Head of Academy Coaching, and Academy Manager.
Richard has 10 years coaching experience at English academies, having previously worked at Leeds United and York City.
He also has experience of coaching soccer as a lead coach at York College helping numerous players progress into professional soccer clubs and further their education, along with leading teams in tournaments in Spain, France, Holland and Norway.
Richard is a FA Level 3 (UEFA B) coach who also holds FA Youth Award Modules 1, 2 and 3.
After signing for Leeds United’s Academy at the age of 7, Corey signed a scholarship in 2012 before going on to represent the whites at U18 and U21 level.
More recently, Corey signed a three-year deal at Wrexham FC making his debut in 2015.
Corey recently graduated from university with a 1st class Honors degree in Sports Coaching, along with gaining his Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification and Level 2 Fitness Instructor.
Corey also plays in a central midfield role for Tadcaster Albion AFC.
Head of i2i Football Academy
An FA Level 3 and UEFA B Coach who holds FA Youth Award Modules 1,2 and 3 with over 15 years’ coaching experience in English academies - formerly of Leeds United and Manchester City.
Michael currently works as Head of the i2i Football Academy, part of the i2i Sports Group of companies. He has been building the reputation of the Academy and recently led them to become ECFA National Champions.
Michael recently completed the Position Specific Coaching (PSC) English FA Course on developing defenders, midfielders and forwards. He is currently undertaking his FA Level 4 (UEFA A) coaching license part 1.
At i2i they brought through Ronaldo Vieira (Leeds United), Romario Vieira (Leeds United) and Alfie Beestin (Doncaster Rovers). Michael is the 1st Team Manager of i2i’s own Semi Professional Team Tadcaster Albion AFC and also runs TAFC’s U21’s team as well as i2i/York College’s First Team with Simon Collins.
Head of Coaching i2i UK Academy
Simon is an FA Level 3 (UEFA B) coach who also holds FA Youth Award Modules 1,2 and 3.
With a BA Hons degree in Sport Development, Simon has more than 12 years’ coaching experience at English academies, having previously worked as a Development Coach at Leeds United and Manchester City.
He also has extensive experience of coaching and recruiting players from the USA, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Norway, Spain, Holland, France and Germany.
In April 2013, Simon completed the Position Specific Coaching (PSC) English FA courses on developing defenders, midfielders and forwards and is currently undertaking his FA Level 4 (UEFA A) coaching license part 1.
Simon has worked with Manager Michael Morton for over 10 years at Manchester City and Leeds United before moving on to run the i2i Football Academy based in York. Simon works closely with Michael Morton as Assistant Manager at Tadcaster Albion AFC.
Head of Performance
Owain is an experienced and results focused sport science and education professional with an MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise Science and expertise within multidisciplinary coaching environments. Owain boosts an impressive resume, and is a highly motivated sport scientist having worked within multidisciplinary teams at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC in the UK and within professional football clubs in South East Asia.
Owain’s research has involved testing, monitoring and evaluating athlete’s physiological capabilities and how this has influenced the physical and technical training methods that professional sports teams use.
With a strong academic background, he has developed tools to measure sports performance that have been used to detect future talent in sport which have been published, whilst also being a professional member of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences and a qualified strength and conditioning coach with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association.
Head of i2i Medicine
Dale has dual professional body status with the Society of Sports Therapists (MSST) and Sports Massage Association (MSMA). Dale has previously worked as Head of Medicine in Women’s Super League (WSL) soccer for Doncaster Rovers Belles and is currently being used on a consultative basis. As a result of these roles, Dale has had the opportunity provide medical support for England Elite performance Camps (EPC), and contributed to FA in-service/CPD events across the regions and at St Georges Park.
Dale is also a Senior Lecturer in Sports Injury Management at York St John University. He graduated from York St John University in 1999 with a BA (Hons) Physical Education and progressed into the fitness industry for a short period of time as a lifestyle consultant, accruing fitness based qualifications in training healthy individual and those on GP exercise referral programmes. He has spent 12 years of his post graduate career teaching at York College teaching, managing and developing higher education sports therapy provision, and teaching/assessing sports massage therapy qualifications up to level 4.
Dale has post graduate qualifications in teaching and learning, sport and exercise sciences, and sports therapy. He is a fellow of the Higher Education authority (FHEA). Dale is extremely passionate about teaching, learning, and developing students into interdisciplinary evidence based practitioners within his subject areas.
Head of i2i Strength & Conditioning
Jamie is currently employed at York St John University as Lecturer in Coaching Science. Jamie graduated with a degree in Science and Football in 2007 and has since completed an MSc in Strength and Conditioning as well as many other national and internationally recognised qualifications such as ASCC and CSCS. Previously, Jamie has held lecturing positions at three HE institutions specialising mostly in athletic development of athletes and training prescription.
Jamie has a real passion for developing athletic performance in a range of individuals and educating others on the challenges involved with doing this. As a Lecturer with extensive applied experience in professional Football & Rugby League, Jamie attempts to educate students from a practical perspective to facilitate sound application of empirical research.
Jamie has a post graduate qualification in teaching and learning and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Jamie is also a qualified Sports Massage Therapist (Level 4) and holds membership to several governing bodies within sport (BASES, UKSCA, SMA).
Jamie teaches a range of modules including Movement Analysis, Sports Injury Rehabilitation and Athletic Development and also supervises final year dissertations.
Jamie current also works part-time in professional sport. Initially, at Barnsley FC as Sport Scientist and York City Knights RLFC as Strength and Conditioning coach. Currently, Jamie is working at EPL Team, Middlesbrough FC as Athlete Development Coach where he is responsible for the physical development of the Youth Development Phase players.
Nathan is a current third year Undergraduate student at York St John University studying Sports Science.
Nathan acquired experienced as a Performance Analyst during a spell York City FC Academy. This was followed by working with Leeds United FC whereby Nathan’s role was to produce footage and reports for the Management Staff.
Having played football for over 10 years and watched professional football for even longer, Nathan has a passion and keen interest in the sport and enjoys feeding the coaching staff with detailed information used to improve both individual and team performance. Nathan's passion for player development motivates him to provide a huge contribution to each individuals tactical understanding and awareness.
Director of Sport
Danny has worked at i2i for more than a decade where he has a proven track record in senior management roles.
He now oversees all elements of i2i Sports and is responsible for the International Soccer Academy, the domestic Soccer Academy and Tadcaster Albion.
He is a skilled organiser who is instrumental in securing sponsorship and funding for i2i Sports.
Head of i2i International Soccer Academy
Andy joined Leeds United Academy at the age of nine before going on to become Head Boy and Captain of the U18’s. He also obtained international caps for Scotland U18’s & U19’s.
After a spell on loan at Darlington in the Football League, Andy continued to play professionally for Altrincham in the Conference, as well as Barrow, Halifax and Scarborough.
Andy graduated from York St John University with a First Class Hons degree in Physical Education & Sports Coaching.
Andy is currently playing for i2i’s Tadcaster Albion.
Tom is a Sports Recruiter at the i2i International Soccer Academy who is responsible for recruiting soccer student athletes both abroad and in the UK.
He frequently travels to North America to identify potential students and to spread the word about the opportunities available through the Academy.
Tom, who is a strong Centre midfielder, spent four years with the Leeds United Academy and has played non-league soccer with Tadcaster Albion.
Andy is a Sports Recruiter at the i2i International Soccer Academy who is responsible for recruiting international soccer student athletes.
Andy works with our team of coaches to identify student athletes that fit our programme both academically and athletically, along with leading our 'Taster Trips'.
Andy also has vast experience of coaching and is an FA Level 3 (UEFA B) coach who also holds FA Youth Award Modules 1, 2 and 3.
Digital Media Manager
In 2015 Jay graduated from the University College of Football Business with an Honours degree in Football Business & Media.
Jay’s role with the i2i International Soccer Academy and i2i’s UK Academy is to manage all social media channels providing fresh and innovative content including pictures, posters, videos and interviews on a daily basis.
Jay is also Media Manager at i2i’s Semi-Professional club Tadcaster Albion which includes running all social media channels, filming matches and website editing.
Jay recently experienced how the Soccer media works in the United States after covering Orlando City Soccer Club in the MLS meeting star players Kaka, Julio Baptista and Antonio Nocerino.
